Description
The gateway with flanking walls is located on the south side of the churchyard of the Church of St Enoder and dates from around the mid-19th century. It is constructed from granite rubble with granite dressings and features cast iron gates. The gateway includes two granite monolith piers, each with a square plan and approximately 2 meters high, topped with hollow-moulded caps and crocketed pinnacles, which may have been reused from an earlier structure. The cast iron gates are adorned with trefoil finials and a panel of scrollwork. The walls on either side are made of squared rubble, standing about 1 meter high with flat granite coping, and they ramp down. Each wall extends about 7 meters, with the western side ramping up to a terminal pier that has a pyramidal cap, while the eastern pier is missing.
