Description
The St Enoder War Memorial is a granite stone cross built in 1919. It stands as a freestanding wheel cross on a sloping octagonal platform, which is surrounded by eight granite posts connected by a metal chain. The memorial features a square single-stepped base topped with a tapered plinth, a tapered shaft, and a Celtic cross that has a knotwork design on its front face.
The base and plinth are inscribed. On the front face, the inscription reads: "THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED A.D. 1919 BY THE PARISHIONERS OF S. ENODER IN HONOUR AND PIOUS MEMORY OF THEIR FELLOW PARISHIONERS WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES FOR KING AND COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 AND WHOSE NAMES ARE INSCRIBED BENEATH IN ORDER AS THEY DIED (NAMES)." The rear face commemorates those who served in the Second World War with the inscription: "1939 - 1945 (NAMES)."
