GV II

Town house, now offices and attached stable and barn. Mid C19 and earlier. Stucco on masonry to front with rusticated basement openings, channelled rustication and hoodmoulds with keys to ground floor, moulded string, moulded hoods on consoles flanking carved friezes to 1st floor and keyed flat arches to 2nd floor; dry slate roof with moulded eaves on widely-spaced brackets. Double-depth-plan front range plus deep wing at right-angles to rear left linked to steps and stables and ruinous parallel range at rear incorporating a C16 or C17 doorway. 3 storeys over basement, 4-window range. Original 9-pane hornless sashes to 2nd floor over later C19 or C20 two-pane horned sashes. Ground floor has 2 windows with C20 glazing over 2 smaller basement openings all with segmental arches as has doorway on left; elliptically-arched granite carriageway on the right. Rear outshut has 3 original 12-pane hornless sashes; older 16-pane sashes to low wing and 3-window taller range on its right; steps adjoining right of this and 2-storey hipped roofed rubble stable at far right with central ground-floor doorway and further doorway on its right. Return range, probably a barn, has central C16 or C17 moulded 4-centred-arched doorway; loading doorway over and window opening left of doorway. INTERIOR: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
