Description
No. 2 Wendron Street is a town house dating from around 1840. It features a stuccoed and rendered front with channelled rustication on the ground floor, an asbestos slate roof, and a brick stack on the right side. The building has cast-iron ogee gutters and a double-depth plan. It stands three storeys tall with a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The upper floors have segmental arches and original 12-pane hornless sash windows, except for the left side of the ground floor, which has been replaced with a doorway. The central doorway is pilastered and has a plain fascia and moulded cornice, along with an original four-panel door and overlight. The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted that the entrance hall features a moulded plaster ceiling cornice, the stair hall has an open-well staircase with open-string stick balusters and a ramped mahogany handrail that scrolls over the newel, and there are panelled window shutters in the right-hand room.
