Description
No. 1 Meneage Street is a corner shop with accommodation above, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features stucco on studwork and a dry slate roof with a rounded corner and projecting eaves, along with brick end stacks. The building has a bowed corner site plan and stands three storeys high, with an overall four-window range and giant panelled end pilasters on the upper floors. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes set within moulded architraves, except for a slightly later first-floor bowed oriel on the far right, which has small panes, sidelights, and a moulded entablature. The ground floor has a full-width moulded entablature with a fascia above the bowed corner shop, which has been much remodelled in the 20th century. There are two pilastered openings on the left, including a house doorway with a six-panel door at the far left. The interior has not been inspected.
