Description
2, 4, and 6 Falmouth Road are a row of three houses located in Truro, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed local rubble with granite dressings and feature dry Delabole slate roofs, except for No. 2, which has an asbestos slate roof and a hipped return on the right. Each house has brick end stacks. The row has a double-depth plan, with Nos. 4 and 6 containing two rooms at the front, while No. 2 has one room at the front.
The houses are two storeys high and present an overall eight-window front, arranged in a 3:3:2 fenestration pattern. The round-headed doorways of Nos. 4 and 6 are centrally located and feature shallow segmental arches with keyblocks above original hornless sashes with glazing bars at No. 2, later four-pane horned sashes at No. 4, and 20th-century glazing at No. 6. The ground floors of Nos. 4 and 6 have canted bays with moulded cornices, and all houses have fanlights, with spoked fanlights at Nos. 2 and 4, along with panelled doors. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses are included for their group value.
