Description
No.11, Western Road is an early to mid-19th century detached house in Launceston. It is constructed of stucco over probable rubble, with a rag slate roof and rendered end stacks. The house has a double-depth plan and a nearly symmetrical 3-window front, with a later extension on the right side. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, except for a later 19th-century canted bay window to the ground floor left, which features pilaster mullions and horned sashes. The recessed central doorway has a round arch and retains its original 6-panel door and spoked fanlight. A nearly full-width tented verandah extends across the front. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
