Description

This is a mid-19th century townhouse with a later shop front, located on Broad Street, Launceston. The exterior is faced with incised stucco, featuring rusticated quoins and a mid-floor band, with the roof concealed behind a parapet. The building has a deep plan, including a substantial rear wing. It is three storeys high and originally had a three-window front, though this was possibly designed for four windows. The upper floors contain likely original four-pane hornless sash windows. A full-width shop front, installed in the late 20th century, now occupies the ground floor, incorporating the original house doorway with a four-panel door towards the left side. The ground floor interior was also altered in the late 20th century. The building is listed primarily for its group value.
