Description
No. 7 Broad Street is a pair of town houses with later shops, dating from the 17th century. The building features slate hanging on a timber frame that jetties out to the upper floor on the left side, and a steep rag slate roof behind a parapet on the right, with a central brick stack. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high, with an overall three-window range. The left-hand bay has early 19th century sixteen-pane hornless sash windows on the upper floors, while the rest of the building features mid-19th century twelve-pane hornless sashes above 20th century two-light casements. The ground floor includes an early 20th century three-light double shop front with sidelights on the left, and a later 20th century shop front on the right with a doorway to its left. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
