Description
No. 4 Broad Street is a shop with offices, built around the 1870s. It features polychrome dressed stone with dressed granite on the ground floor, as well as for the first-floor surrounds, a flush mid-floor band above, and for the jambs and alternate voussoirs of the second-floor windows. The building has a steep dry Delabole slate roof with two original gabled dormers that have trefoil arches framing 4-pane sash windows. The structure is designed in the Gothic style and consists of two storeys with a two-window range. The first floor has paired windows with shouldered heads, while lancet windows are located above, all featuring original 2-pane horned sashes. The ground floor boasts an original double shop front with end columns and a central doorway that includes quadrant lights. There is another doorway on the right with a 6-panel door and an overlight with margin panes. The interior has not been inspected.
