Description
No. 1 Market Street is a shop premises dating from the early 19th century. It features incised stucco or render on what is likely studwork, and has a dry slate roof with a brick stack on the right. The building has a single-unit plan and stands three storeys tall with a one-window range. It retains original 16-pane hornless sash windows. The late 20th-century shop front includes pilasters and a moulded entablature with a fascia and a splayed doorway on the left. A central gabled dormer has a 4-pane, 2-light casement window with glazed cheeks. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value with other buildings in Market Strand and Killigrew Street.
