Description
No. 50 Market Street is a town house with a later shop, dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features rusticated quoins and keyblocks above flat arches. It has a moulded parapet cornice that is broken forward over a central panelled round arch supported by pilasters. The roof is covered with asbestos slate, and there is a brick end stack on the left side. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high, with a three-window, three-bay range that includes keyblocks above the original 12-pane hornless sash windows. The full-width moulded cornice is positioned over a late 20th-century recessed double shop front. The interior has not been inspected.
