Description

This house, located to the north of the Tree Inn, has origins dating back to the 17th century, with remodelling in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a pebbledashed exterior and a slate roof, with a brick chimney at the left end. The layout consists of two rooms and a cross passage, with a front lateral stack, although the stack's shaft has been taken down. The building is three storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows, showing evidence of the former front lateral stack's position.

The 18th-century frame supports a wide 18th-century six-panel front door, with each panel being fielded. The first-floor windows are 20th-century horned timber sashes, while the ground floor includes a four-pane fixed window on the left and a smaller 12-pane fixed window to the right of the door. To the right, there is a wide 19th-century eight-pane sash window. The second floor features three windows, likely from the 19th century, which are two-light casements with six panes per light.

Inside, there is a large fireplace associated with the lateral stack and a plank and muntin screen to the right of the through passage, which dates from the 17th century or earlier. A bracketed door hood has been removed, and there is a small plinth at the lower end of the building. Information about the interior has been provided by the Cornish Buildings Group.
