Description

LANSALLOS LITTLE GREEN, (east side), Polperro SX 2050-2150 6/68 Tamara and Demelza (previously listed as Nos 1 and 2) 21.8.64 GV II

House now divided into 2 cottages. Probably mid C18. Painted and rendered stone rubble with cement-washed scantle slate roof with gabled end on left and hipped end on right. Brick chimney stack on left-hand gable end and large projecting stone rubble chimney stack with cloam oven projection set back on hipped right-hand end. Slate-hung outshut on hipped end cantilevered out over stream. Probably originally 2-room plan with central through or cross passage. The lower right-hand room was probably the kitchen with a large projecting end stack, and the left-hand room the parlour also with an end stack. Subdivided into two 1-room cottages with outshuts added to rear to left-hand cottage and at side of right-hand cottage. 3 storeys regular 2-window front. Ground floor with 2 C20 2-light casements with glazing bars. 2 C20 gabled porches at centre with C20 glazed doors. First and second floors with two 2-light casements with glazing bars. Interior circa late C18 ceiling beams in Tamara. Chimney piece with renewed timber lintel. C20 stair to rear of Tamara. Interior of Demelza not inspected.
