Description
Polhaven is a house that possibly dates from the early 18th century and was partly remodeled in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from rendered stone rubble and features a slate roof with gable ends, and the eaves have been raised. The layout consists of a single room plan with a through passage to the right and a later one-room wing at the rear. The building has three storeys and an asymmetrical front with a single window. The ground floor includes an early 20th-century cross window on the left and steps leading down to the passage on the right. On the first floor, there is a 20th-century two-light casement window with another 20th-century window above it. Inside, the house features 19th-century joinery. The passage has slate flagging and heavy chamfered ceiling beams. On the east side of the passage, there is a timber plank and muntin screen with a possibly slightly moulded sole plate. On the west side, there is a horizontal planked timber screen with a panelled door leading into the front room.
