Description

Miranda Cottage is a house dating from around the early 19th century. It is constructed of painted and rendered stone rubble with a scantle slate roof, which is gabled at the right-hand end and hipped at the left. A brick chimney stack is located on the left-hand, hipped end. The house likely has a 2-room double-depth plan, with a smaller room situated behind the main front room, and an entrance hall to the right, possibly leading to a staircase at the rear. It is two storeys high and has a regular, single-window front. The ground floor has an original 12-pane sash window on the left and an entrance on the right, sheltered by a slate lean-to roof. Above, a late 19th-century 4-pane sash window is visible. The external elevations appear unaltered. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its group value.
