Description
This is a house located between Barclays Bank and Homeside in Polperro, dating from around the mid-19th century. It is constructed from painted and rendered stone rubble with brick dressings and features a slate roof with gable ends. The left-hand gable end has a brick chimney stack, while the right-hand gable end has a stone rubble chimney stack with a brick shaft. The house likely has a two-room layout with a central entrance hall. It is situated on a steeply sloping site, with the entrance raised above street level. The building has two storeys and a symmetrical front with two windows, each containing four-pane sash windows beneath brick segmental arches, flanking a central panelled door that is also beneath a brick segmental arch. The first floor features two sash windows with Gothic glazing bars on the top lights. Only the central entrance hall was inspected. This house is included for its group value.
