Description
This is an estate cottage located approximately 75 meters west of Trelissick House, built around the 1840s and extended in the 1970s. It is constructed from slatestone rubble with granite sills, corbels, and lintels. The roof is made of dry Delabole slate and features brick chimneys at the gable ends. The eaves and verges project, supported by two projecting courses of slatestone. Originally, the cottage had a three-room L-shaped plan with an outshut in the angle, which was later extended to the rear in a similar style by The National Trust. The cottage is two storeys high with a two-window south front. The first floor has wider three-light windows in half-dormers, each with pediments at the gables. The chimneys are adorned with cogged cornices. To the right, there is a corbelled quoin that supports the roof linking the cottage to farm buildings that have similar corbels. The interior has not been inspected. This cottage is one of five on the Trelissick estate that share similar architectural detailing.
