Description

Thorn Cottages are two cottages dating from the 18th century, possibly with earlier origins. They are whitewashed and plastered, topped with a thatched roof that is gabled at both ends. The right gable end features a brick chimney, along with an additional brick chimney on the ridge. The cottages have a single depth plan and are two storeys high, with a two-window range. There are 20th-century front doors beneath slated canopies. The ground floor has four 20th-century two-light timber casements with glazing bars, with the central pair being smaller and having three panes per light. The thatch is eyebrowed over two similar windows on the first floor. Inside the right-hand cottage, there are exposed ceiling beams.
