Description
Empacombe Windmill is a tower built in the 18th century, likely reusing a late 16th or early 17th century doorway and window frames. Constructed from red sandstone and slate rubble, with some parts rendered, the roof is missing. The circular tower stands three storeys high. The ground floor features opposing doors with flat heads and relieving arches above, framed by moulded granite architraves. There are two windows on both the first and second floors, each with hollow chamfered surrounds. The interior shows signs of former floors and stairs, which have now been removed. The tower serves as a prominent landmark in the area.
