Description

The kitchen garden walls at Empacombe, which are now disused, date from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed of red brick in English bond, with some limestone rubble incorporated. The walls feature a triangular brick coping and enclose fully walled fruit and vegetable gardens divided into four sections. Each section has a segmental headed doorway on each side. The walls stand approximately 3 metres high. Once serving as the kitchen and fruit garden for Mount Edgcumbe, they are now in a state of decay.
