Description
Towers on Iron Mill Road in Charlestown are early 19th-century structures featuring two roofless, circular towers made of sandstone rubble. The tower on the west side has a doorway on the southeast and two windows on the ground floor and two on the first floor. All windows are round-headed and have been blocked up with brick. The upper section of this tower is advanced, with a corbel course that supports an ashlar band course. Inside, the ground floor is plastered and includes blocked openings and a fireplace, with an inserted brick course between the floors. The first floor reveals exposed rubble stonework and further blocked openings. The east tower has been reduced to one level.
