Description

Gordon Castle features a tall rubble tower that stands six storeys high, with two storeys at the ground likely incorporating parts of a late medieval castle. The current tower is believed to date from 1540, with modifications made in the 18th and 19th centuries, and much of the surrounding 18th century work was demolished around 1960.

The upper storeys are constructed of ashlar and include cable moulded string courses. The windows, which are likely regularised from the 18th century, feature multi-pane glazing in sash and case style. The upper storey has been remodelled with crenellations and corbelled angle turrets.
