Description
Garden House at Gordon Castle is an 1811, two-storey, three-bay house featuring a later projecting gabled bay at the rear. The house is bordered on both sides by the north wall of the walled garden, with the south elevation slightly projecting into the garden. The front is made of brick, while the rear is harled.
The symmetrical south elevation showcases a wide central projecting canted bay that includes a central entrance and small windows on the flanking facets. The outer bays have wider ground floor windows, while all first-floor windows are segmental-headed and positioned close to the eaves. The outer windows consist of three lights, while the remaining windows have two lights, both types divided by thick moulded wooden mullions and featuring multi-pane glazing. The house has a pair of coped ridge stacks and a piended slate roof that is raised over the first-floor windows.
At the rear, there are slightly projecting central bays, which are now fronted by a later wing that includes an entrance in the re-entrant angle.
