Description
West Park is a house built around 1860, constructed from slatestone rubble with an asbestos slate roof featuring ridge tiles and gable end stacks. There is a lower roof level room with a slurried slate roof and a gable end stack to the left. The building has a double depth plan, with a central entrance and principal rooms located to the front left and right. To the left, there is a bay that is set back, which was originally a one-room plan cottage heated by a gable end stack.
The exterior is two storeys high and features a symmetrical three-window arrangement. All windows are 16-pane sashes from the 19th century, except for the central first-floor window, which has 8 panes. The central entrance has a plain door, and all openings are topped with flat brick arches. Attached to the left at the lower roof level is a two-storey, one-room plan cottage that has a 12-pane sash window with a stone head on both the ground and first floors, along with a 20th-century door to the right. There is a single-storey addition on the right side with a 20th-century casement window, and another single-storey addition at the far right, also from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
