Description
Church House is a house that likely dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from slatestone rubble, partly rendered, with the front being slate-hung. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and features ridge tiles and gable ends, along with a stepped rear lateral stack that has a brick shaft.
The house has a two-room plan, with the entrance leading directly into a large room on the left, which is heated by the rear lateral stack. The smaller room on the right is unheated and has an inserted door.
The exterior of the house is two storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three windows. The first floor features three 16-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century door to the left, a central 16-pane sash window, and a plain door to the right. The left side of the house is blind, while the right side is rendered. At the rear, there are small single lights on the ground floor to both the right and left, and a central external stack with an oven at its base. The interior has not been inspected.
