Description

A terrace of two houses and one cottage, probably dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated in Perranzabule. The buildings are constructed from local killas rubble with granite lintels over the openings. They have asbestos slate roofs with brick chimneys positioned over the gable ends and the cross party walls. The layout is a double-depth plan; the two houses on the left and centre are similar, while the cottage is on the right. Each house has two front rooms flanking a central entrance hall, which likely leads to a stair hall between the rear service rooms. The cottage features one front room, an entrance lobby on the left, and likely a stair and service room behind. The exterior of the terrace is largely unaltered, with original doors and windows throughout. The doors are panelled, featuring two tall round-arched panels. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. "Meadowside," the left-hand house, retains an old box porch in front of the doorway. The front elevation has a total of seven windows, with the houses exhibiting symmetrical three-window fronts and central doorways, while the cottage front is a single window with a door on the left. Rubble coped rubble walls define the front gardens. The interior has not been inspected but it is likely to be as unaltered as the exterior.
