Description
Church House is a probable former church house that was later used as a hall and has now been converted into a private residence. It features a datestone from 1843 and is constructed of killas rubble with granite dressings on the front. The building has an asbestos slate hipped roof with a gable-ended two-storey projection at the center of the front. The plan was remodeled in the 20th century and likely originally consisted of a three-room layout: a central bay with an entrance hall at the front and a one-room-plan double bay at each end, each with entrance lobbies on the inner sides.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a virtually unaltered front. It has a symmetrical northeast front with two bays on each side of a central bay that is slightly set forward and topped with a triangular pediment. The central doorway has a window above it, and all the windows are two-light granite mullioned windows with 20th-century glazing. There are hoodmoulds over all the openings, and there are doorways under the second windows from the left and right. The right-hand doorway is partly blocked and has been fitted with a window, and there are 20th-century doors. The other elevations have been altered in the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected.
