Description

The Hodge tomb, located by the south porch of Church St Piran in Perranazbuloe, is an early 19th-century pedestal chest with an urn. It commemorates Thomas Hodge of Callestock, who died in 1811 at the age of 59, and Thomas Jervis Hodge of Callestock, who died in 1825 at the age of 27. The tomb is made of dressed granite and features incised marble plaques attached to the sides. It has a square-on-plan design with a moulded cornice and is topped by an urn that sits on a moulded base. Oval marble plaques are attached within rectangular panels on two sides, specifically the south and east.
