Description
The Hodge and Williams tombs are located in the northeast angle of the Church of St Piran in Perranazbuloe. These two chest tombs date from the early 19th century and are dedicated to the Hodge and Williams families. One tomb is made of granite ashlar and features a moulded plinth and cornice, along with an inset slate slab inscribed to William Hodge of Lambourne, who died in 1838 at the age of 92, his wife Susannah, and their daughter JL Hugh Williams of Colan, who died in 1838 at the age of 7 years. The other tomb has a brick base and a slate lid, with an incised inscription honoring Hugh Williams, who died in 1820 at the age of 62. Both tombs are rectangular in shape.
