II

Small house. C18. Painted cob over low rubble footings. Half-hipped wheat reed thatched roof. Rendered chimney just behind the middle of the ridge of the main roof. Plan: Now a T-shaped plan. Probably the front range (head of the T) is the original 2-room-plan house with larger room on the left (probably the kitchen/living room) and small room on the right (probably the parlour). At front left there is an old or original lean-to probably earth closet and there is an original porch in front of the doorway. Wing at right angles to rear middle is presumably C20 but in the style of the old part of the house. Exterior: 2 storeys. Painted cob walls with good texture. South front has 3 irregularly disposed window openings: first floor middle; ground floor left of middle and ground floor right. Entrance porch is towards the right. C20 doors and windows in original openings. Interior: Not inspected.
