Description

Cuskayne Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from shale rubble with granite dressings and features a hipped scantle slate roof with brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a two-room layout plus a kitchen wing and a lean-to in the angle. It stands two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed and the bottom panels flush and beaded. All openings are slightly arched, featuring granite keyed lintels and granite jambstones. The door opening is at a lower level. The farmhouse has sixteen paved sash windows without horns. The front has granite quoins, while the other sides are made of rubble. The interior has seen little alteration, retaining original panelled doors, window shutters, and stairs. The roof space of the lean-to served as an apple loft.
