Description
Lamellyn Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a 20th-century wing. It is constructed from shale rubble and brick, topped with a Delabole slate roof and features brick axial chimneys. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The south front includes a 20th-century bay window on the left and a 20th-century wing on the right. The 17th-century section has irregular openings fitted with 20th-century casements that have glazing bars. The door is located off centre to the right, adjacent to a stone lateral stack connected to the wing. The rear brick wing, which is 18th-century, is laid in random and Flemish bond. Some openings have been blocked or altered, and early 20th-century renovations complicate the identification of original openings in the 17th-century part. Inside, there is a large brick open fireplace in the west room of the 17th-century building, featuring an adjustable iron pot hanger, likely from the 18th century. The fireplace beneath the lateral stack is blocked. The interior also boasts a good mid-18th-century open well stair with turned balusters and some two-panelled doors.
