Description

The Hawkins Arms is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of shale rubble with granite jambs and quoins, topped with a hipped asbestos slate roof and featuring brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a two-room double depth plan and is two storeys high, with a three-window front. The central door is situated beneath a three-light bay canted window, which has small paned sashes. The ground floor windows consist of 16-paned sashes set under shallow brick arches, while the upper floor features 20-paned sashes in similar openings. The interior is described as undistinguished, and there is a cobbled pavement with a mounting block to the right of the entrance.
