Description
Knoll Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1800. It is constructed from shale with granite dressings and features a hipped scantle slate roof along with brick chimneys on the side walls. The building has a two-room double depth plan and stands two storeys high with three windows. The front entrance consists of a 20th-century glazed door that is slightly off centre to the right, flanked by sash windows with 20 panes. The first floor has sash windows with 16 panes. All the openings on the front of the house are framed by irregularly dressed granite jambstones, granite sills, and shallow brick arches with granite keying. Inside, the farmhouse retains its original staircase, a chamfered oak lintel above one hearth, window shutters, and two-panel doors with HL hinges on the first floor, along with a pegged roof structure.
