Description

Bissick Bridge is a road bridge over a stream that leads to the Tresillian River, constructed in the early to mid-19th century. It is made of stone, featuring shale rubble and dressed granite. The bridge has a double span of segmental arches that rise from bank piers and a central pier made of granite ashlar, which includes pointed cutwaters. The granite voussoirs are complemented by projecting key blocks. The original granite coping can be seen on the south parapet, while the north parapet has later coping made of reused granite, installed after the wall was lowered. The south wall of the bridge is adjacent to Oddfellows Hall at the eastern end.
