Description
Bissick Manor is a house that dates from the 18th century or earlier. It features a ground floor of painted rubble and cob, topped with a thatched roof and granite ashlar chimneys at the gable ends. The building has a two-plan layout with a cross passage originally. It stands two storeys high and has three windows. The central door is located behind a 20th-century porch. The ground floor windows have six panes, while the central casement window above the door has eight horizontal panes. The flanking windows are casements with two panes each and have paned fanlights above them. The stone rubble chimney breasts are topped with slate weatherings. Inside, there is a hearth with an arched oak lintel that has the date 1503 carved to the right. The room to the left features chamfered oak lintels over an open hearth, which has a cloam oven behind the left jamb.
