Town house, now office. Early C18, on C17 site; refronted early C19. Stucco on masonry, channelled rustication to ground floor, architraves to 1st floor; steep dry Delabole slate roof with brick end stack on right. Deep plan including rear wing. Fine Regency-style facade. 2 storeys, symmetrical 3-bay 3-window front. Sashes with glazing bars. 2-storey bowed bays flanking central entrance bay with doorway with eared architrave and deep hood with key pattern to soffit on coved brackets over consoles; C18 six-panel door (with original box lock) with overlight. Stair hall has early C18 round-headed sash window with very thick (more than 2") glazing bars and petalled fanlight head. INTERIOR: many C18 features including: open-well open-string staircase with turned balusters and moulded ramped handrail; moulded ceiling cornices and fielded panelled doors with HL hinges; also many painted panels, said to be from a ship, set into the walls of the entrance hall. Early C19 curved window shutters to left-hand front room.
