Description

Dean House is a town house, likely dating from the 18th century and extensively refronted in the mid-19th century. The front elevation is faced with incised stucco on a masonry base, with slatehanging to the left-hand return. The roof is covered in asbestos slate, with brick end stacks. The house follows a double-depth plan, presenting a nearly symmetrical three-window facade. It has late 19th-century four-pane sash windows with horns, each with a keyed segmental arch above. A pilastered doorway is located slightly left of centre, featuring consoles and a dentilled entablature; the panelled reveals contain a 20th-century door with an overlight. The interior was not inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
