Description
No. 46 is a town house, now used as offices, built around 1810. It is constructed from dressed and coursed local stone, featuring a granite plinth, coping, and voussoirs, with a dry Delabole slate roof and brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan with a central entrance hall and two front reception rooms. It stands two storeys over a basement, with a symmetrical three-window front. The round-arched doorway includes a six-panel door and a spoked fanlight, with original hornless sash windows beneath shallow cambered arches that have projecting key blocks. Inside, there is a moulded ceiling cornice in the vestibule and panelled shutters; the rest of the interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. An original wrought-iron gate remains to the left of the doorway, providing access to the basement steps.
