Description
No. 1 Fairmantle Street is a house, now used as an office, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from local rubble with some freestone dressings and features an asbestos slate roof with brick stacks at each end. The building has a shallow plan with two reception rooms on either side of a central entrance hall at the front. It stands two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window facade facing the street. The round-headed doorway is slightly off-center and contains the original six-panel door with a plain overlight above. The ground-floor windows have shallow segmental arches with keyblocks, and the original hornless sashes include glazing bars, except for a tripartite horned sash in a widened opening on the first floor to the left. The interior has not been inspected.
