Description
No. 25 is a small town house, now used as offices, built around 1803. It features a granite ashlar front and an asbestos slate roof, with an old hipped dormer located behind the parapet and a brick end stack on the left side. The building has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys plus an attic over a basement, with a front that has a two-window range. The shallow segmental arches have projecting key blocks, and there is a mid-floor string and a parapet cornice. The doorway on the right has a moulded cornice, and the panelled door is set back. The wider ground-floor window has a horned tripartite sash, while the other windows are original 16-pane hornless sashes. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. The property also features subsidiary elements such as wrought-iron railings that flank the entrance bridge and stand over the forecourt walls, along with granite steps leading down to the basement.
