Description
This is a town house, now an office, dating from around 1820. It is one of a pair of similar buildings. The front is constructed of granite ashlar with a roof covered in Delabole slate. The building is arranged over a basement and three storeys, with a double-depth layout featuring a room at the front. It has a two-window front. A round-arched doorway is located on the left-hand side, featuring a six-panel door and a spoked fanlight above. Architectural details include a first-floor sill string, a mid-floor string, and shallow segmental arches with keyblocks above modern sash windows with glazing bars. The interior features panelled shutters, a moulded round-headed doorcase leading to the vestibule, and a moulded ceiling cornice in the front room; the rest of the building was not inspected. Wrought-iron railings with scrolled finials are positioned on either side of the doorway and continue over the basement forecourt wall. These railings demonstrate group value by contributing to the streetscape.
