Description

No. 98 Duke Street is a house that has been converted into an office, dating from around the 1770s. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof. The building stands three storeys tall with a basement and has three bays. A cornice runs along the top. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash style, with glazing bars on the first and second floors. The entrance is round-headed and features a Doric aedicule with an open pediment supported by dosserets adorned with relief ornament, leading to a six-panel door. There are also 19th-century iron railings in front of the area, which have decorative heads. Part of the entrance aedicule is obscured by an adjacent shop extension.
