Description
Nos. 120, 122, and 124 Duke Street are a terrace of three houses built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings and have a slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys with a basement, and each house features three bays. There is a ground floor sill band, and all windows have wedge lintels and sills, topped with a cornice.
The central doorways of Nos. 120 and 122 are paired and framed by Doric doorcases with engaged columns, with a fanlight above the doorway of No. 120. No. 124 has a round-arched recessed doorcase with Doric attached columns and a frieze. While Nos. 120 and 124 have all their windows as sash types, only the second-floor windows of No. 122 remain as sash, with the others missing. Plain iron railings enclose the basement area.
