Description

The Blewett and Mitchell tombs are located approximately 30 metres west of the Church of St Piran in Perranazbuloe. These two chest tombs date from around 1855 and 1867. One tomb is a slate chest dedicated to Ann Blewett, who died in 1867, while the other is a freestone chest for Captain David Mitchell, who lived from 1788 to 1855. The slate chest features a moulded plinth, panelled sides, corner balusters, and a moulded lid. The freestone chest has monolithic sides and a moulded lid. Both chests are rectangular in shape.
