Description
The Blewett chest tomb, located approximately 8 metres east of the south aisle of the Church of Saint Hilary, is a chest tomb from the 18th century. It commemorates George Blewett, a merchant from Marazion, who died in 1766 at the age of 63. The tomb features a large marble casket-shaped sarcophagus that stands on four shaped feet atop a moulded base. It is topped with a large gadrooned urn and has a rectangular plan in a Baroque style, with the centres of the long sides slightly projecting forward.
