Description
The Proctor grave, located near the entrance to the new burial ground east of the Church of Saint Hilary, is a chest tomb from the early 20th century. It commemorates Henry Richard Proctor, a Fellow of the Royal Society, who lived from 1848 to 1927. The tomb is made of dressed granite and features a rectangular shape with ashlar sides. The lid is squared-edged and set back, displaying an inscription on raised strips. Henry Proctor was a notable scientist and the father of Ernest Proctor, who lived from 1886 to 1935.
