Description

GRAMPOUND FORE STREET (north side), Grampound SW 9248-9348 WITH CREED 7/37 Ringmore House - GV II

House. Possibly early C18, but with alterations and additions of circa mid C19 and C20. Painted stone rubble and cob. Slurried slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stack to right with brick shaft. Plan: 2-room plan, with the room to right heated from a gable end stack and entrance to the front of each room. This may originally have been built as a rear wing to Godfrey's (q.v.). There is an unheated outshut to rear right. Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical one-window front. C20 door to left with timber lintel; ground floor early C19 16-pane sash with timber lintel and C20 door to right. First floor has C19 2-light 8-pane casement with L hinges. The right end has large external stack; at ground floor to left a C19 16-pane sash and first floor left an early C18 12-pane sash with thick glazing bars. At the rear there is a single storey outshut with plank door at the right side and small single storey addition to rear with plank door. Interior: Not accessible.
