Description
Ringmore House is a house that possibly dates from the early 18th century, with alterations and additions made around the mid 19th century and 20th century. It is constructed from painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a slurried slate roof featuring ridge tiles and gable ends. The house has a gable end stack to the right with a brick shaft.
The layout consists of a two-room plan, where the room on the right is heated by the gable end stack, and there is an entrance at the front of each room. It is believed that this may have originally served as a rear wing to Godfrey's. There is an unheated outshut at the rear right.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical one-window front. To the left, there is a 20th-century door with a timber lintel, while the ground floor features an early 19th-century 16-pane sash window with a timber lintel and a 20th-century door to the right. On the first floor, there is a 19th-century 2-light 8-pane casement window with L hinges. The right end of the house has a large external stack; on the ground floor to the left, there is a 19th-century 16-pane sash window, and on the first floor left, an early 18th-century 12-pane sash window with thick glazing bars. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut with a plank door on the right side and a small single-storey addition with a plank door. The interior is not accessible.
