Description

This is a late 18th-century to early 19th-century house with later 19th and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of slatestone rubble, with the front rendered, although some of the render has been removed. The roof is tiled with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks have brick shafts. The house was originally planned with two main rooms, a larger room to the left and a smaller one to the right, with the entrance set off-center to the right. There is a single-story outshut with a loft along the rear, containing a kitchen heated by a brick stack and a stair hall.

The two-story, attic house has a nearly symmetrical three-window front. The ground floor features a 19th-century four-panelled doorway off-center to the right, and 12-pane sash windows with sidelights to the left and right. A canted bay with a cornice sits to the left, also with a 12-pane sash and sidelights. The first floor has a central 19th-century four-pane sash, a later 19th-century six-pane sash to the right, and an early 19th-century 12-pane sash with sidelights to the left. One hipped dormer has a six-pane sash (formerly two dormers). A Phoenix fire insurance plaque is positioned above the doorway, and the eaves cornice features lion masks on the guttering. The right end is blind and roughcast. Early 19th-century 12-pane sashes are visible at ground floor to the right, with a fire insurance plaque above, displaying a crown and number 7520. A 20th-century window is located at first floor to the left.

The rear features the outshut, of single storey with a loft; with a four-pane light at first floor to the left and a single hipped dormer with a two-light casement above. A small single-story 19th-century wing with 20th-century windows and a porch is set into the angle with the main range, and a 20th-century bay window is part of the kitchen to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
